credit card questions

Do debit cards and prepaid credit cards help build your credit history?

Credit Cards by Class

A true debit card from a bank serves the purpose of using the card instead of writing a check and, therefore, does not relate to credit. However, there are a number of prepaid debit cards (also called prepaid credit cards) that do report to credit reporting companies.

Usually credit bureau reporting is an add-on benefit that has a fee attached to it. Depending on your situation, that fee might be well worth the cost of building your credit history and increasing your credit score.

You can find several such cards in our Prepaid Credit Card Section.
